Arrived in Johannesburg after a straight flight from Perth and had to drive 2 hours to the NWU University where we were playing for the next 2 weeks. I was a little nervous travelling to Jburg by myself but the city I was in (Potchefstroom) was pleasantly safe and I did not have to worry as much as you would think about things getting stolen. The people were very lovely and helpful especially within the hotel and my roommate and I were sad to leave the ladies working at the cafe of our hotel. They had become our friends. If they have more tournaments here I definitely will go back. First week I made another final in doubles with partner Berfu Cengiz, however, we lost. Second week I started to finally play some good tennis and won my first round against Gabby Taylor who has been ranked as high as 160. I also had a good win in my second round making it to my first quarterfinals of the year. Everything was starting to flow better and I believed all I needed was one win to get myself going again and in the groove of winning matches. After winning my first round match it gave me the confidence I had been missing the past few weeks and I was really excited about the week ahead of me… little did I know that they would cancel the tournament due to coronavirus πŸ™
