It was the first time I travelled to Tasmania and I was excited to get to the hot weather and beaches but little did I know that Burnie where the tournament was played was in the middle of nowhere and very windy. I was fortunate enough to travel with my old coach John Gardiner. We stayed at a farm house air bnb and the couple were very lovely. We cooked dinner each night on the BBQ ( well John cooked and I did the dishes haha ) and after a long day of playing tennis we would sit down and watch the Australian Open all afternoon/evening. There is no such thing as too much tennis!!! You could say Burnie didn’t really have a lot going on. My second match of the year was tough but I got through it and qualified into the main draw, however, lost first round. I played doubles with Destanee Aaiva and we made the semi-finals of doubles losing to the girls who won the tournament. Looking forward to going home and playing Fed Cup this week.
